What is Cardsharing?

Cardsharing is nothing else than distribution of DW keys from official card to other users via Internet or LAN. The functions of a server distributing the keys for a particular package can be performed by Dreambox – a satellite receiver based on Linux operating system, a computer with an attached programmer and appropriate software, and others. Every 10 seconds DW keys are read from the card, and these keys are sent to all users connected to the server (of course not for free). Given that the key is changed every 10 seconds, to use this service you must have an Internet connection with megabyte billing.

Key distribution consumes very little Internet traffic – about 80-250 kB per hour viewing at an average. But in this case the Internet connection must be rather qualitative. If your Internet is bad, the losses will occur, and at this point the image on your TV will freeze or pour. At the moment, the key distribution is carried out using two main protocols: Newcamd 525 (TCP), Camd 357 (UDP). The maximum resistance against package losses have TCP protocols, i.e., Newcamd 525. But at this time they consume a little more traffic (slightly different from Samd 357). This is important only for those who use GPRS

Cardsharing with Alpha Star Receivers

Suppose we have found online offer for sharing NTV+ package via Newcamd 525 protocol.
In order to begin enjoy watching your favorite channels, you would install the software supporting the cardsharing in the receiver.
For example, to view the NTV+ package we were given such initialization string:

Where:
  • cservX.net is the name or IP address of the server;
  • 10000 is the port through which the sharing of NTV+ Russia package will be moved;
  • 10001 is the port through which the sharing of Viasat Baltic package will be moved;

  • password - password;
  • 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 - encryption key of the stream

To connect the tuner to the Internet, we need mpcs_ide program. This program will communicate via the Internet or LAN to the server, get keys and send them to your receiver.

First, we need to change the data of the following files (Use the Total Commander program to press F4 button and begin edit the files):

  • ttyS0 is COM port 1 of your computer to which you connect the null modem cable;
  • ttyS1 is COM port 2 of your computer to which you connect the null modem cable;
If you are the owner of bad Internet, I advise you to set the following:

Thus, when packages are lost, your image will be damaged not so often, but at the same time the channels will be switched a little slower.

In the receiver you must activate the emulator, how to do it is described here , than you must prescribe in cardsharing settings for NTV+ Provider - 0500, IDENT - 023700; for Viasat- Provider - 090f, IDENT - 000000 To configure the Orion Express (80e) package you need, except as described above, to add some options in the MPCS program: mpcs.guess

Do not forget to check that our computer has running any firewall or Windows Firewall, blocking cardsharing port and IP, if any, than we allow it to connect via the port xxxxx of IP yyyyyy.

After all the changes complete, connect the tuner to computer using null modem cable, switch on the channel that you want to share, activate Internet on your computer, run mpcs_client.exe and enjoy the viewing...
